Sacrifice of Praise

By Carol Clegg-Lamptey Last updated: September 16, 2023 3 Min Read

This hymn was playing in my head:

For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies.

Gracious God to Thee we raise
This, our sacrifice of praise

Eeii,
Another song just dropped

We bring sacrifice of praise
Into the house of the Lord
And we offer up to You
The sacrifices of thanksgiving
And we offer up to You
The sacrifices of praise

Oh my!!!
Praaaaaaaise God!!!

Let’s read this chapter together:

Psalm 8:1-9 NLT

1 O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens.

2 You have taught children and infants
to tell of your strength,
silencing your enemies
and all who oppose you.

3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingersβ€”
the moon and the stars you set in placeβ€”

4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?

5 Yet you made them only a little lower than God
and crowned them with glory and honor.

6 You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authorityβ€”

7 the flocks and the herds
and all the wild animals,

8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.

9 O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!

Amen!

All glory, laud, and honor
To thee, Redeemer, King
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring…

God is good!
He is more than worthy to be praised!
Who is like unto Him?
None!

Take glory Father
Take glory Son
Take glory Holy Ghost
I am born again

Let us today and always

Praaaaaaaaaasaaaaise God!!!!!

Dr. Carol Clegg-Lamptey, this poetry is a beautiful expression of gratitude, faith, and joy. The hymn and the accompanying verses from Psalm 8 convey a profound sense of awe for the natural world and a deep reverence for the divine. The transition from the hymn to exuberant praise and celebration adds a lively and spirited dimension to the poem, reflecting the joy and devotion of the speaker. Overall, it’s a heartfelt and uplifting piece that resonates with a sense of wonder and devotion. God Bless you.
