CHANGING SCENES

What or in whom is our hope in all the uncertainties of life? GOD! It is in Him we put our trust, our hope, our very lives. There is no safer place to be than in the Lord.

Changing scenes,…

I don’t know about you, but for me, there’s a whole lot of change happening.
The world is changing, the weather, we as individuals are changing.
We’re aging, well, our bodies are, and changing day by day. To think of the years we’ve lived on this earth – some 1, others 10 and others a whole whooping 80 years! It comes with a lot of life experiences doesn’t it? Rich life experiences.

I was listening to the hymn – ‘Through all the changing scenes of life’ and it got me pondering on the words.
The hymn takes its source from Psalm 34:1-10 and its opening line echoes the psalm’s dedication to praising God through trouble and joy. God is still God and God is still good, no matter what. Like the Psalm, the hymn emphasizes God’s deliverance from fear, the safety of the righteous and invites others to experience God’s goodness. How I love that Psalm!

The saying goes: “the only constant in life is change”.
Thank goodness we have a God who does not change!
It can get pretty depressing when you look at all that is happening around us – famines, floods, fires, plane crashes, sickness, death 😢.
BUT GOD!

Malachi 3:6 NIV – “I the LORD do not change.

James 1:17 NIV – Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

We know as believers this is not our home and that we’re on the highway to heaven.

Don’t you wish you could pause time in those good moments – when the family is all together, when we’re all happy and enjoying each other’s company?
I love those moments!
I often joke to myself that if we all had the power to pause time for a few minutes, time would barely move; every second, someone across the globe would be pressing the pause button. 😅

What or in whom is our hope in all the uncertainties of life?
GOD!
It is in Him we put our trust, our hope, our very lives.
There is no safer place to be than in the Lord.

Isaiah 49:15-16 NIV –
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.

That’s our God! 🥹

So therefore:
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NIV – We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed

Because He lives, we can and we will face tomorrow!

And like my dear friend Peter Teinor loved to say (of blessed memory 🥹): IT IS WELL!!!!

Fear him, ye saints, and you will then
have nothing else to fear;
make you His service your delight,
He’ll make your wants His care.

God bless you!
