FATHER

By Carol Clegg-Lamptey Last updated: August 19, 2024 2 Min Read

I had just woken up and I started to talk to God and said “Father,..”.
I stopped and I pondered on how effortlessly I said “Father” to start my conversations with God. He is indeed my Father and your Father in heaven isn’t He?

Songs and Bible verses came to mind. 😊
The words of this song have always been such a comfort to me:

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call

These verses!

Isaiah 49:15 NIV – Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!

Psalm 103:11 NIV – For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;

These verses of the hymn ‘Hark my soul, it is the Lord’ capture what a Father we have based on the verses above.

Can a woman’s tender care
Cease towards the child she bare?
Yes, she may forgetful be,
Yet will I remember thee.

Mine is an unchanging love,
Higher than the heights above;
Deeper than the depths beneath,
Free and faithful, strong as death.

I’ll end with these words:

Father in heaven, how we love you.
We lift your Name in all the earth.
May your kingdom, be established in our praises,
As your people declare your mighty works.

Blessed be the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is, and is, to come.
Blessed be the Lord God Almighty.
Who reigns forever more.

Indeed, blessed be the name of the Lord!

Amen and amen!!!
