Friendship!
Isn’t it amazing to have a friend?

Friendship is a voluntary, mutual, and affectionate bond between people built on trust, respect, and shared experiences. It involves emotional support, companionship, and a genuine desire for each other’s well-being, often acting as a chosen family. These relationships are crucial for mental health, offering encouragement and a sense of belonging.

There are so many Bible verses about friendship and about one’s neighbour.

Recall the two commandments that sum up the whole Law:

Matthew 22:36-40 NIV
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

I cannot talk about friendship and not mention the bestest friend anyone on this earth can have – JESUS!!!!

I’ve found a Friend, O such a Friend!
He loved me ere I knew Him;
He drew me with the cords of love,
And thus He bound me to Him;
And round my heart still closely twine
Those ties which naught can sever,
For I am His, and He is mine,
Forever and forever.

He is an amazing friend!
Simply amazing!

John 15:15 NIV –
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

This is coming from our Saviour, our Redeemer, the One who died that painful death to bring us life. What manner of love and He calls you, yes you 🫵🏽friend!
Boy! 🥹🙌🏾🙏🏽🙇🏽‍♀️

Who am I that You are mindful of me
That You hear me when I call
Is it true that You are thinking of me
How You love me
It’s amazing, it’s amazing, it’s amazing
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
He calls me friend

Now to this past weekend!
Oh my goodness.
In case you haven’t heard, my alma mater – Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast here in Ghana held their 189th Speech and prize giving day.
This was hosted by my year group – Class of 2004 together with the other fours.
Together we are,……FOURTIFIED!

It was an amazing weekend. It was wonderful to see girls (women 😅) and friends I haven’t seen in the past 22 years. Yes,..you read it right,..22 whole years!
God has been good!

I must admit on getting to the pick up venue, I started experiencing those old feelings I used to have -self consciousness, shyness and inadequacy. Guess what I did – I shook it off, prayed and intentionally pushed shyness away (as best as I could 😃)
I’ve been pretty quiet my whole life, but by the grace of God, I’m not so much anymore. Life is to be lived and to be experienced, so woman is trying her best with God’s help to do exactly that.

There nothing like having a heartfelt chat with a friend and it was wonderful to do that with my sitting partners both on the way to the Cape Coast and on the way back to Accra.
Hold your friends close. Treasure them, make time for them.
God did not create us to be islands.

But never forget the bestest friend of all – JESUS!!!

Can a woman’s tender care
cease towards the child she bare?
Yes, she may forgetful be,
yet will I remember thee.

John 15:12-14 NLT –
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.

John 15 is packed!
I recommend you read the chapter; as I also plan to.

I dedicate this blog to the ladies of the 2004 year group of the Wesley Girls’ High School
You dey form! 😍😘🤗

I’ll end with these words as we remember with fond memories those we have lost along the way.
May they continue to rest in perfect peace. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later
We’ll meet again someday
It might be a little while, but that’s okay
We’ll sing and talk of all these times
Of the memories that we’ve made
Both the good and bad and all we’ve learned
All we’ve learned (3x)

God bless us all! (I mean everyone)
😊🙏🏽
