GOD IS WITH US

The Bible is full of so many experiences of people of old.
We see God’s hand at work through it all.
One has always filled me with so much hope.
The moment I heard the song ‘Outnumbered’ it immediately came to mind.

2 Kings 6:15-17 NIV –
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

In reading the passage again, I am amazed at the quiet confidence of Elisha. 😄
While the servant was probably screaming his head off in fear, Elisha calmly tells him not to be afraid, encourages him, then prays for his eyes to be opened so that he could see.

Wow! And what a sight it was! 😄💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽🙌🏾🙌🏾

Elisha spoke as someone who knew his God was and saw what others could not.

So therefore, no matter where or how we find ourselves as believers, one thing we must never forget is that God is with us.
He has promised never to leave nor forsake us.

Romans 8:31 NIV – What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

It seems a simple fact, but when we’re overcome by fear, it’s easy to forget all we know 😅.

The following come to mind:
• Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and the audacity they had to face Nebuchadnezzar — ‘even if!’

• David and the words he spoke to Goliath – You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. (1 Samuel 17:45)
They knew their God!

This is something we need to emphasize to our kids as we train them up in the way they should grow – GOD IS WITH THEM, so they should not fear.
I often remember certain songs (gospel, Sunday school) from my childhood and ponder over the words. These words may resonate more to me now than they did then, but they are there, among many others.

Isaiah 41:10 NIV – So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God dey, so noooo shaking. 😄

God bless you!
🤗
