The fourth man in the fire!
You can consider this a sequel to the last blog, “Even if”. ☺️
There’s so much more to the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Daniel 3:21-26 NIV –
So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. 22 The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego,
23 and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”
They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”
25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”
26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”

So who exactly was this fourth man?
Taken as a phrase, the term “the fourth man”  is used metaphorically to symbolize God’s presence and protection during trials and adversity.
We know that our God is three in one – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Christian scholars interpret the fourth figure as Jesus Christ appearing in the fire to protect the men.
What does this tell us? We are never alone even in the midst of our greatest trials. Praise God!

John 16:33 NIV – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Isaiah 43:2 NIV
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

I am reminded of the story of the wise and foolish builders; one built his house on the rock and the other on the sand. What happened in both cases?
The rains came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against those houses. One house did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock. Not so for the other house; it fell with a great crash! The storms of life will come upon each and every one of us as long as we are on this side of eternity. BUT GOD!

On Christ the solid rock I stand ,
Aaaaall other ground is sinking sand!

He is the Lord
Is anything too hard for Him?
He is the Lord
He has said it and surely will do
Hold on to your faith; your confession all your life
And you will see the hand of the Lord in your life

God is not a man that He should lie, nor is He a man to change His mind.

God said it. I believe it. That settles it!

I don’t know what you are going through, but know this – God is with you. He has promised to never leave nor forsake you. He is faithful to His Word.
The fire will not burn you,

What must you do? Trust Him! Surrender to Him!
He is more than able!

God bless you!
😊🙏🏽
