The Letter of Our Lives

Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you. Christ himself wrote it,..

What are others reading when they encounter you? What are you telling the people around by your actions, your words, your deeds, your responses, your attitude? Faith without deeds is dead. James 2:26

I joined an interesting conversation where one person was saying that if you want to employ someone, don’t just look at someone in church and select them. Look for someone who is actively working at something outside the church.
He elaborated that in church we tend to wear masks. Everyone appears holy don’t they? 😅 He told of how when Jesus was choosing His disciples, He didn’t go to the synagogue, He went into the field; He chose people who were working – Peter and Andrew in the boat fishing, the sons of Zebedee, also fishing, He chose them from among various ordinary professions, primarily fishermen and a tax collector, whom He called to leave their lives and follow Him. He chose after praying on the mountainside.

Who are you at work?
Who are you when you’re with your friends?
Who are you when ‘no one’ is watching? God sees it all.
Who are you when you let your hair down?
What kind of company do you keep?

The world is watching us.
I read this on someone’s status:
The greatest cause of atheism in the world is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable. Brennan Manning. 😬

2 Corinthians 3:1 MSG – Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you. Christ himself wrote it—not with ink, but with God’s living Spirit; not chiseled into stone, but carved into human lives—and we publish it.

Colossians 3:17 NLT
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

There’s more to life than we see with our physical eyes. We are in a spiritual fight for our very souls and those around us. Let’s not let this world distract us from our purpose – to live for God and point others to Him. It is a matter of life and death – eternal life and eternal damnation. God has equipped us with His armour which we are to daily put on and His very presence with us.

Hebrews 12:1 NIV – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us

I pray my life tells of someone yielding to God. Someone who yes, has sank many times, but by the grace of God has risen once again, fixing her eyes on Jesus.

Proverbs 24:16 NIV
for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again,

Hallelujah! 💃🏽💃🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

What is your life saying?

God bless you.
🙏🏽

We bless God for the reminder.
A big amen to your prayer.

As I read your comment this hymn came to mind:
Take my life and let it be
      Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise

      And all the other stanzas

      God help us all!
      🙏🏾
