The Life in Our Years

The internet is such a blessing. Well, yes it can be both a blessing and curse; depending on how you use it or allow it to use you. 😅
This is the form of speech (don’t ask me the term 🫣) in what I discovered is a quote that I heard at a funeral this weekend.
IT IS NOT THE YEARS IN YOUR LIFE THAT COUNT, IT IS THE LIFE IN YOUR YEARS.

I found it to be very deep and thought provoking. It brings to mind this Bible verse:

Luke 12:15 NIV
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

Oh yes,.. there’s so much more to life.
I see it in more of the impact we make.

As followers of Christ, we are to please God and point others to Him.
Is that not the Great Commission our good Lord left for us?

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

When it comes down to it,..as believers if we let the purpose of our daily lives be to please God, wouldn’t that guide our every thought, action ,word, decision, among others?
I believe so.
We certainly can’t do that without the Holy Spirit.

Ecclesiastes 12:12-13 NIV – Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
13 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.

When all is said and done, fear God, seek to please Him and let your light shine so others can see your good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
Amen!

God bless you!
😊🙏🏽

I like Eccless 12:12-13. It sums up everything man has to do on earth. May we not be hearers of the word but doers of it. By this act, God is pleased with us. Thanks for sharing Carol.
