What Are You Doing?

Another question! 😃😇

There are other questions you and I can ask ourselves:

  • What am I doing for my God?
  • What am I doing in His vineyard?
  • Am I allowing Him to lead me daily?
  • Have I become distracted from the work He has given me?
  • Do I even know the task He has given me?
  • What is the motive behind what I do?
  • What is my heart posture as I go about my duties?

One of the parables I can never get out of my mind is the Parable of the Talents. Matthew 25:14-30. Note that a talent was worth about 20 years’ wages for a labourer.
What did the one who had been given one talent do? He dug a hole in the ground and hid it, not putting it to use. 🤦‍♀️ It seems like such an absurd thing to do, doesn’t it? Herein lies the newsflash – many of us are doing the exact same thing. I felt like I was doing that during the pause in writing; but thanks be to God, here we are again by His good good grace! 🙌🏾 The others made use of their talents and were able to present to the Master more than He gave them.
The servant who hid his talent was punished and had even the little he had taken from him when the Master returned. 😬

The Parable is a powerful illustration of God and us; His children.
– He has given us all tasks to do by entrusting us with things under our care as stewards.
– God has given us all time (time on this earth – it may appear long or short, but it is time nonetheless)
– God has given us resources.
– God daily brings us into contact with people. I really do believe that we don’t chance upon people by mistake.
Are we taking advantage of what we may consider as chance encounters?
Are we allowing God to use us daily?
Our tomorrow may very well be today.
Only God knows.🤷🏾‍♀️
– God has given us each special abilities which are peculiar to us all.
What are we doing with it/them?

– God will ask us to account for our stewardship.
Look at how we take audits in our various places of work so seriously.
Imagine! The I Am That I Am, the Alpha and Omega is going to audit your life 😳. Does this realization not make you want to sit up and live with a daily purpose to glorify Him, point others to Him, serve Him?

Let’s keep at the charge that He has given us and not be distracted.
He who Has called us is more than able to strengthen us daily as we yield to Him.
We cannot do it on our own. We should not even try. We need the Holy Spirit.

Philippians 2:12-13 NLT – Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.
13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Work for Jesus, day by day
Serve Him ever, falter never, Christ obey
Yield Him service loyal, true
There’s a work for Jesus none but you can do!

What are you doing?

God bless you!
🙏🏽
