ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

God is working His purpose out as year succeeds to year
God is working His purpose out
And the time is drawing near
Nearer and nearer draws the time
The time that shall surely be
When the earth shall be filled with the glory of God
As the waters cover the sea.

And it was evening and it was morning,..the 3rd day in January!

Attitude is everything!
When you number the letters the word attitude gives you 100%.
Try it, if you haven’t done so before. I did, 😃, quite a while ago anyway.

Attitude can be defined as the way in which a person views and evaluates something or someone, a predisposition or a tendency to respond positively or negatively toward a certain idea, object, person or situation.
It’s the second part for me!

So attitude can be good or bad.
Obviously God wants us to have a good attitude.
It requires being intentional and asking God to help us have such an attitude. The Holy Spirit dey!

Recall this verse.

Philippians 4:8 NIV – Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

That’s a tall list huh?
It just goes to show how our thoughts can affect us. Negativity is a no-no. Take it from me.

Instead, what should we do?

Romans 12:2 NIV –
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Gratitude.
Who doesn’t love it when people say thanks?
Me,..I like it,..I won’t lie. 🤭
When I see a patient at work and they turn and say – thank you, it makes me feel good. As for the addition of a “God bless you”,.. oooooh my,..I can’t describe the feeling. It’s like icing on the cake!

If you and I can respond to thanks like this,..what more our great God?
God, from whom ALL blessings flow.
He is mooore than worthy of it.

I’ll quote the words of a song:

A thankful heart
Creates a thankful home
Filled with love and understanding
So that grace can abound

A thankful heart
Breaks down the walls of pride
Cause overcoming every problem
It begins with a thankful heart

Let’s read:

Psalm 111:1-10 NLT –

Praise the LORD!
I will thank the LORD with all my heart
as I meet with his godly people.

2 How amazing are the deeds of the LORD!
All who delight in him should ponder them.

3 Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.
His righteousness never fails.

4 He causes us to remember his wonderful works.
How gracious and merciful is our LORD!

5 He gives food to those who fear him;
he always remembers his covenant.

6 He has shown his great power to his people
by giving them the lands of other nations.

7 All he does is just and good,
and all his commandments are trustworthy.

8 They are forever true,
to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.

9 He has paid a full ransom for his people.
He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever.
What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!

10 Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom.
All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.
Praise him forever!
