EL-ROI

Carol Clegg-Lamptey

I’m so excited,..it’s been difficult to actually sit down to write this.

Finally,.. we’re on the names of God!!!
I always thought we’d start with Jehovah Jireh.
But for some reason the God who Sees has always gotten to me.

El- Roi
The God who sees.
It is found to appear once in the Bible and in which book? – Genesis

I’m sure we all know the story.
Sarah, Abraham’s wife, gave her slave Hagar to her husband so she could start a family through her. But when Hagar got pregnant she was found to despise her mistress. Sarah ended up maltreating her and she ran away.

One interesting thing that was pointed out in another blog I read was that in the account, neither Abraham nor his wife referred to her by name. She was simply the slave, a means to an end.
BUT,..God called her by name.

Oh my goodness!!!!

Genesis 16:7-8 NIV
The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
8 And he said, โ€œHagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?โ€

Genesis 16:13 NIV
She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: โ€œYou are the God who sees me, โ€ for she said, โ€œI have now seen the One who sees me.โ€

God sees you.
God knows you by name.
God loves you.
God seeks you out.
God knows the number of hairs on your head.
He would leave the 99 just for you.
Remember the prodigal son. The father welcomed him with open arms – he run to him and threw his arms around him.

What manner of love is this??

Can you imagine how you appear from outer space??
Smaller that the smallest dot. ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿพโ€โ™€

God sees you.
He knows you by name.

And that my fellow brothers and sisters is EL- ROI.

๐ŸŽถ
Sing praise to God who reigns above,
the God of all creation,
the God of power,
the God of love,
the God of our salvation.
With healing balm my soul is filled
and every faithless murmur stilled:
To God all praise and glory. ๐ŸŽถ

God dey paaaaaaaaaa!!!
