This our God!
He be tooooo much.
You cannot be put to shame when you put your trust in Him.
Granted, the answer may not come in a way you expect, but God is always at work.
Always.
That just brought Kirk Franklin’s song to mind – Always. A shoutout to members of the class choir of 2011 year group, University of Ghana. Remember how we sang that song at MOMIC?
The Holy Spirit took over that day!

I digress 😅🤭

Under the Shadow of the Almighty.
What does this mean?
It’s a phrase we see in many songs and obviously in that powerful Psalm – Psalm 91

Psalm 91:1-2 NIV – Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

That Psalm!
Imagine what would happen within each of us if we daily proclaimed the words of that Psalm. I think you should pause here and read it from beginning to end.

What is a shadow?  It is a dark area or shape produced by a body coming between rays of light and a surface.
A shadow is a dark area on a surface where light is blocked by an opaque object AND its function is to create an image of the object blocking the light by showing the absence of light.
So,..when you stand in someone’s shadow, you don’t get hit by light right?

Now, what does it mean to rest/ abide/ remain in the shadow of the Almighty?
It is a metaphorical statement meaning to find refuge and peace by living in the presence of God through faith and trust.
So it takes effort on our part, we need to believe, trust and stay in the presence of God.
Can we be in such a position when we fail to pray, read our Bibles, study the word of God, fellowship with other believers among others??
No!
The shadow represents a state of intimate closeness, protection and dwelling in God’s presence and authority and it requires conscious effort.
We must be intentional. Don’t you just love that word – intentional ? 😀

I came across some key aspects of resting in the Almighty’s shadow. They included the following:
• Constant refuge and protection – just as a physical shadow provides a cool, safe place from the sun, God’s “shadow” represents His presence offering unwavering protection from fear and harm
• Implicit trust – a deep trust in God’s power, love and ability to provide everything needed for life
• Abiding in God’s presence – having one’s mind fixed on Him; making Him the ultimate place of comfort and shelter
• Ultimate deliverance – does not mean the absence of suffering, but rather assurance of ultimate deliverance from final death and defeat
• A state of peace – brings a profound sense of hope, joy and peace that is unshaken by worldly circumstances
• Spiritual intimacy – a personal and intimate relationship with God characterized by commitment to seek His presence and live according to His will.

Isaiah 55:6 NLT
Seek the LORD while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near.

James 4:8 NIV –
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Are you resting in the shadow of the Almighty? If not, what are you waiting for?? There is no better place to  rest than in the shadow of the Lord of Hosts, the I AM THAT I AM, the never changing God who from everlasting to everlasting is God.

God bless you!
😊🙏🏽

Wow, it’s so comforting to be reminded that we can rest under God’s shadow and have peace. We have no other choice but to continue to trust in Him.
