“Come and See!” This phrase conveys some excitement. I can feel it; can you?
It conveys some expectancy of being shown something that is wonderful; something that will blow your mind!
Come and see oh, come and see
Come and see oh, come and see
Come and see what the Lord has done (4x)
Someone said this in the Bible. Can you recall who?
In actual fact, more than one person did. 🤔
Let’s get into the word! 🏃🏽♀️➡️🏃🏽♀️➡️🏃🏽♀️➡️
John 4:28-30 NLT –
The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone,
29 “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?”
30 So the people came streaming from the village to see him.
Let’s look closely at these verses.
• the woman left her water jar beside the well. Isn’t that something? The purpose of her going was to fetch water, but she had encountered a person who has made her forget her purpose for coming out at that time of day.😅
• She ran back to the village. Note the word “run”. There was an urgency on her part,..some excitement!
• Her quoted words – “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did, could he possibly be the Messiah?” This was not a Jew. This was a Samaritan and yet, the encounter she had with Jesus had put Messiah on her mind.
• She told everyone. Note the word “eeeeeveryone“.
• The people came streaming from the village to see Him. The people listened to the woman. I’m certain not everyone came, but many did.
Lessons!
• we have been commissioned as ambassadors to tell the world about Jesus and His saving power.
• We are to tell everyone. It is our duty to tell, as we are led and leave the Holy Spirit to do His work.
• No one is beyond the redemptive power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• The hearts of those who hear will be convicted, but ultimately, they get to choose whether they will indeed come and see. We on the other hand are to tell them!
Matthew 28:18-19 NIV – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
So please, I Carol Emily Naa Lamiokor Clegg-Lamptey invite you to come and see. 😁
Come and see the God who took all the pieces of my life, put them back together and made it alright, a God who forgave me.
A God who has made all things new and given me a brand new heart and yes, forgave me!
Theses are the words of a lovely kids’ song. I’ll include the link. I love love love 😍music; most especially Sunday school songs. They are rich with truths about our great God. https://youtu.be/LO-2fm7IKcU?feature=shared
A charge to keep I have,
a God to glorify,
a never-dying soul to save,
and fit it for the sky.
What are you telling the world around you?
My suggestion – “Come and see,…”
God bless you!
