It means that God is absolutely separate, transcendent, and morally pure, existing apart from and above all creation.

Revelation 4:8 NLT – Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out.
Day after day and night after night they keep on saying,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—
the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”
Did you notice that?
Day after day, night after night, the living beings keep on saying “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God,…”. Wow!
I imagine myself in Ezekiel’s place beholding the glory of God.
It would be too much for me, too beautiful a sight to behold. It would make me see how unworthy I am to be in His presence. I would fall prostrate before Him.
Ezekiel 1:26-28 NLT – Above this surface was something that looked like a throne made of blue lapis lazuli. And on this throne high above was a figure whose appearance resembled a man.
27 From what appeared to be his waist up, he looked like gleaming amber, flickering like a fire. And from his waist down, he looked like a burning flame, shining with splendor.
28 All around him was a glowing halo, like a rainbow shining in the clouds on a rainy day. This is what the glory of the LORD looked like to me. When I saw it, I fell face down on the ground, and I heard someone’s voice speaking to me.
Now to the words of the hymn.
They foster the very essence of the holiness of our God.
These words especially speak to me:
Holy, holy, holy!
Though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see
Only Thou art holy
There is none beside Thee
Perfect in power, in love and purity
I plead your indulgence. Read aloud the words of the verse below and do so slowly and deliberately. You’ll find yourself worshipping the I AM THAT I AM. And why not? HE IS WORTHY OF IT ALL!!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Isaiah 6:3 NIV –
Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
