Yes, Lord!
Who doesn’t like to be told yes when they ask for things?
I remember in my childhood how disappointed I would be when my parents said no to a request.
I see the disappointment on the faces of my kids when I say no to them.

Among the many lessons my father has taught me over the years is this one – “When you are asked to do something for the Lord, do it to the best of your capability.”

When I think about the Lord
How He saved me, how He raised me
How He filled me with the Holy Ghost
How He healed me to the uttermost
When I think about the Lord
How He picked me up and turned me around
How He placed my feet on solid ground
It makes me wanna shout
Hallelujah!
Thank You, Jesus
Lord, You’re worthy
Of all the glory
And all the honor
And all the praise

It should also make us want to say – YES, LORD! 🤭

Saying yes to God is an act of obedience, surrender, and trust, aligning personal desires with His will to unlock spiritual transformation and purpose.
It means trusting God’s authority over personal plans, which often leads to deeper faith and, through His strength, allows Him to work through individuals to impact the world.
Wow,…impact the world, and all to His glory!
Hallelujah!!!

Saying yes is considered the fundamental first step of obedience. It should be noted that this obedience sometimes involves a process of discerning how best to follow God’s will. Examples of this obedience can range from changing career paths or moving to a new city to altering personal habits.

How do we know that it’s God asking us to do something?
• Check if it aligns with the word of God. God’s voice will never contradict HIs written word. The best way to discern God’s voice is to know the Bible well. We must saturate ourselves in Scripture.
• Look out for witness or conviction in your spirit. Otherwise, wait till you have prayed and had that conviction. Ask yourself where you feel peace. Where God guides, He provides peace that transcends understanding (Proverbs 3;5 &6)

Well, I’m learning to say yes more now and this has enabled me to do some things I never thought I could, all the while leaning on God for strength and that’s what He wants from us – total dependence.

What are some benefits of saying yes to God?
• Experiencing God’s faithfulness: we witness God’s reliability as He completes the good work He begins.
• Transformation: it changes personal desires to align with God’s leading to joy and peace.
• Blessings and purpose: it transforms ordinary lives into extraordinary ones through the Holy Spirit.
• Serving others: it allows believers to be used by God to reach others and make an impact.

Note: saying yes is not a merely a one-time decision, but a daily, often daunting 😅 commitment to trust God’s promises and follow His leading.

Let’s see some biblical examples
• Mary (Luke 1:38): when told she would conceive Jesus replied “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to me be fulfilled.”
• Abraham (Hebrews 11:8): by faith Abraham said “yes” to God’s call to travel to an unknown place that would become his home.
• Isaiah (Isaiah 6:8): after God asked “Whom shall I send?”, Isaiah replied, “Here am I. Send me!”.
• The Disciples (Matthew 4:20): Simon Peter and Andrew immediately left their nets and follows Jesus.

What is God asking of you today?
What is your answer?
May our answer be “Yes Lord!”

I’ll just say yes
You lead the way
I’m not afraid of what it means for me to say
That this life You gave
Is not my own
I’m trusting You to hear my yes and lead me on
Yes Lord
Yes Lord
My life is Yours

God bless you!
😊🙏🏽
