Reflections,..
In life it is a great thing to reflect isn’t it?
To think carefully or ponder on a subject or past experiences.
It’s something I love to do; on conversations, interactions and the events of many a day.
Life, they say, begins at 40.
I came across this statement that I couldn’t agree with more – “Life doesn’t begin at 40, it begins at Calvary”. Love it!
Mercy there was great and grace was free
Pardon there was multiplied to me
There my burdened soul found liberty
At Calvary.
Compared to eternity, what is our life here on earth?
• A mist or a vapour : James 4:14
• A passing shadow: 1 Chronicles 29:15
• Grass and flowers : 1 Peter 1:24-25
• A handbreath : Psalm 39:5
Such is the brevity of life isn’t it?
And yet what happens on this side determines where we will spend eternity – accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and living for Him.
If only we kept this in mind in all the hustle and bustle of life.
It feels like life is busier than it was in the 90’s. 🤔
People hardly have time for themselves, what more for others. Hmmm.
A statement I couldn’t agree with more –
People always make time for what is important to them.
It’s been a hard pill to swallow on many occasions, but as we grow, we learn.
For me, the utmost priority is God, then family and friends.
When I look back at my “short” 😜 life, I see God’s hand.
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able,
I will sing of the goodness of God!

God’s love is something that has enveloped me and I simply can’t get over it.
What manner of love that the offended extends so much as to give His own Son to die for the offender (you and I)??
God is love and He so loved that He gave! John 3:16
What a wow and what a God!
Some lessons:
• I’ve learned in life, things may not always go the way we would like, BUT GOD! It is ours to trust Him and lean on Him through mountains and valleys of life. Knowing that God is able to work all things for my good, has been such a comfort (Romans 8:28). So therefore, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade by God’s grace. 😄
• To make it in this life, we must fix our eyes on God. Boy have I learned it the hard way 😅🤦🏽♀️. I made the mistake of fixing my eyes on the storms and I found myself deep in the pit of depression. Peter walked on water as long as He kept his eyes on the Lord. May we do the same.
• The attitude of gratitude. There is always something to be thankful for. There is a silver lining in every cloud. In Philippians 4:6 and 7, we are to present our requests to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving! This verse sums it all up doesn’t it?
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV –
Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
• I love how it is put in Ecclesiastes 5:16 – fear God and keep His commands for this is the duty of all mankind. To do this, we must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbour as ourselves. As the Ewes in Ghana would say “Evo”, meaning ‘it is finished!”
In whatever season of life you may find yourself, I pray you remember that God is there. He has promised never to leave nor forsake us.
He is in the mix.
He is in the room!
The words of Psalm 23 just flashed through my mind.
Why not take the time to read over or “tell
yourself” the words of that amazing Psalm. 🙏🏽
Indeed the Lord is our Good Shepherd and He will surely lead us home.
Amen!
Gods bless you!
