Dry bones,..
When I think of dry bones, I’m reminded of the Sunday School song I don’t think I sang enough of. 😅
Ezekiel prophesied to the dry bones (3x)
And they joined to serve the Lord.
There is a bone standing, bone standing, dry bones.
In the account of the valley of dry bones which we can find in Ezekiel 37:1-14, Ezekiel is taken by God in a vision to the valley, filled which bones that are described as very dry.
BUT GOD!
Ezekiel is asked: “Son of man, can these bones live?”
His answer? “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”
Indeed only God knows.
Ezekiel 37:4-6 NIV –
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ ”
Wow!
God did it indeed.
The dry bones came to life and stood on their feet- a vast army.
The valley of the dry bones symbolizes hopeless situations, spiritual dryness and stagnant faith.
BUT GOD!
From the story, we are to recognize that no situation is too dead for God to revive.
We are to do the following:
– speak God’s word (instead of complaining)
– cooperate with God as He works (trusting and obeying)
– invite the Holy Spirit (rely daily on Him)
Even when the situation does not turn out how we expect, God is still at work. God is sovereign. 🙏🏾
We often hear the phrase, “Once there is life there is hope”. I’ve said it many times myself.
But guess what? For the believer, even after life ends on this side of eternity, there is still hope; a LIVING HOPE in the personhood of Christ!
Hallelujah!
I don’t know what you may be going through, but this is a call to renew your hope in God.
Even if things don’t go according to plan (our plan), know that God is at work even then.
Romans 8:28 NIV – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
God is working
He’s up to something
I may not see it, but still I’m trusting
God is working, working , working,..
God is working, woking, working,…
May the good Lord keep us all daily!
