God’s right hand
I don’t know about you, but when I think about the right hand of God, I’m filled with hope; an assurance that the God of all creation is with me and for me.
A song came up over the weekend. It’s in one of the Ghanaian languages – Ga:
Kaashe gbeyei, shi mi kɛ bo yɔɔ
(Fear not, for I am with you)
Kaa kwɛ kwɛ ohe, shi mi ji o nyɔnmɔ lɛ
(Be not dismayed, for I am your God)
Ma waje bo ni maye mabua bo
(I will strengthen thee and help thee)
Shi mi nine wulu kɛ bo yɔɔ
(For my mighty hand is with you)
That’s Isaiah 41:10 for you.
Life lifes us all at one time or the other (that is, life is actively happening with all its unpredictable, chaotic, or overwhelming moments).
Thankfully, we have a God:
– who does not change (Malachi 3:6)
– who has promised never to leave us not forsake us (Hebrews 13:8)
– who is our refuge (Psalm 46:1)
– who watches over our coming and going (Psalm 121:8)
– who knows us inside out (Psalm 139 1-4)
– who is with us through the flood, through the fire (Isaiah 43:2)
We take life a day at a time, or better put as a friend told me the other day, a second at a time with the assurance that God is with us every step of the way; all the way. 🙏🏽
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV –
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
What is it about the right hand of God?
It is a powerful biblical symbol of supreme authority, highest honour and divine strength.
I end with the the words of Isaiah 41 verse 10:
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
God bless you!
