WHEN LIFE HAPPENS

By Carol Clegg-Lamptey Last updated: August 5, 2024 4 Min Read

I actually penned part of this down last Friday but never got the chance to send it out.
I was having one of those moments. πŸ˜„

Jesus was not joking when He told us not to worry about tomorrow; that each day had enough trouble of its own. πŸ˜… (Matthew 6:34)

Life happens to all of us. BUT GOD!
The unexpected which takes us unaware.
What do we do when things don’t go as we plan?
Do we despair, cry, sulk, complain?
All these are true emotions but when all is said and done,..what??

I listened to a sermon yesterday which made me ponder. πŸ€”
The topic was misconceptions.

There are so many phrases we hear as we plod on in this life, some of which we may even think are found in the Bible.
A careful search proves that they are indeed not! πŸ˜…

Heaven helps those who help themselves et al.

This one got me! πŸ˜… Does God give us more than we can handle? Yes He does!

Why?
So we depend and rely ON HIM; there are countless examples.
Moses, Gideon, Esther, David, just to mention a few.

GOD DOES promise not to allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear – 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV – No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

I found myself in a ‘life happens’ situation. I was like πŸ‘€.
In my mind and heart, I was 😩😩 and wondering when the ordeal would be over. I prayed and asked God,..why??
Did the situation change? No it didn’t. Did I have to go through it? Yes I did. Did it end? Yes it did! Was God with me through it all? YES HE WAS! The attitude had to change Β and the knowledge that I was not alone was oh such an encouragement.

Some situations appear hopeless, terrifying, unending, but whatever you may be going through, remember these words from the I AM THAT I AM, the Alpha and Omega, the Great God of wonders, the Father of the heavenly lights who does not change like the shifting shadows Β – I WILL BE WITH YOU.

Isaiah 43:2 NIV – When you pass through the waters,
I WILL BE WITH YOU;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

That’s our God!
😍πŸ₯°

Run to Him.
Trust Him
Hope in Him.
Lean on Him
Praise and worship Him.

God never promised a problem free life. He did promise that He would be with us, through it all.

In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear; and safe is such confiding, for nothing changes here: the storm may roar without me, my heart may low be laid;
but God is round about me, and can I be dismayed?

God bless you!
