WORK FOR JESUS

By Carol Clegg-Lamptey Last updated: July 11, 2024 3 Min Read

Do we ever leave the presence of God without a seed being sown in us?
I don’t think so.
It’s what happens to that seed and how long it takes to grow.
Is the soil of our heart fertile or it’s filled with rocks or thorns or there’s no soil at all?🤔

The Parable of the Sower for you! 😁

As I awoke, the words of the hymn and what was said about them in church came to me. I’ve always wondered how to interpret the words.

Work for Jesus, day by day,
Serve Him ever, falter never; Christ obey.
Yield Him service loyal, true,
There’s a work for Jesus none but you can do.

Will the work really not be done if I don’t participate?
Won’t God find someone else to do it? 😅 (Moses asked oooh 🫣)
Are we really that indispensable?

This is how it was put on Sunday – take it that the work will not be done without you, else there lies the tendency not to do anything, expecting Someone else will do it. This Someone else personality suffers a lot with all the expectations of him or her! 😄. Whatever God puts on your heart to do, do it and do it with all your heart.

Colossians 3:23 NIV – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

God will take care of the results of your labour. Recall what Paul said in his letter to the Corinthians?

1 Corinthians 3:5-9 NIV – What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task.
6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.
7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.
9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.

What has the Lord put on your heart to do for Him?
Are you doing it or looking at the next person?
What are you waiting for?

God bless you!
🤗
