What does it mean to blessed? 🤔

These days I like telling people this – ‘God bless you pleeeenty’, on their birthdays. 😁

My patients ending a consultation with the words – ‘God bless you’; means so much to me.
I receive it papa; if only they knew how much I claim it! 🤣

Gifts are not bad; blessings on the other hand,…gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

When I’m blessed by my patients, I’m assured that they are happy with our consultation session and for that — allll glory to God Most High. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Again I ask : What does it mean to be blessed?

Some may equate a successful life with a blessed life.

Is this the Christian version of a good life – having obedient children, a healthy body, a loving marriage, wealth, abundance of friends etc??
Then frankly, many of us would not consider ourselves to be blessed – myself inclusive. 🤭

Ask yourself – If God gave you everything and anything you needed in life; would you feel a need for Him in your life? You’d feel self sufficient and push Him away.

But thanks be to God!
He gives each of us a thorn in our flesh; one, two or an abundance.
What did Paul say??

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NLT –

even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.

8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.

9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”
So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Scripture shows to us that blessing is anything and everything that God gives that makes us fully satisfied IN HIM.
ANYTHING THAT DRAWS US NEARER TO JESUS.

As a parent, would you give your child everything they asked for?
You’d give them what they need and obviously sometimes what they want.
Would you give them things that would cause them to despise you and think they don’t need you??      Nooo way!
So why do we expect God to do otherwise. 🤔

Consider the Beatitiudes in Matthew 5: 3-10, is there any mention of material possessions??
Blessings come in different forms and types.

I love this statement I came across and I quote.
‘God’s greatest blessing always rests in God Himself. When we have that, we are truly blessed’.

So as I love to say in my responses to comments on the blog; which have been absent for a few posts now; hint hint,…😝
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

Find below Psalm One

Psalm 1:1-6 NIV –

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,

2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD,
and who meditates on his law day and night.

3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

God dey paa!!

Daily fix your eyes on Him.

Everybody’s got problems.

I keep afloat by fixing my eyes on Jesus; the author and perfecter of my faith.

Praaaaaaaaaaaise God!!!!!                                                                                                                                   💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
