DEPENDABLE GOD

Carol Clegg-Lamptey

God is simply amazing!
He speaks!
This reminds me of this hymn:

Master, speak! Thy servant heareth,
Waiting for Thy gracious word,
Longing for Thy voice that cheereth
Master, let it now be heard.
I am list’ning, Lord, for Thee;
What hast Thou to say to me?

I’ve learnt never to even attempt writing a blog when I am tired; much less make decisions when I’m tired, hungry or upset! God has a way of dropping something when I wake. He confirmed the title of this blog ☺️ — “Dependable God”.

Who doesn’t want a dependable friend??
To think we have that and much much more in the God that we serve,..now that’s exciting!

What does it mean for something or someone to be dependable? It describes it or them as being capable of being trusted or depended on; reliable.

Now what does it mean to say that our God is dependable?
It means we can trust God and rely on Him for everything.
He is Jehovah Shammah because He is present everywhere; we can look up to Him because He is the Divine Helper, Creator, Providence, Security, Safety, Protective Provision and note this one,…Divine Constancy.

This is the God you and I serve! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

So what should our response be to such a dependable God?
– We should trust Him and never doubt Him.
– We should cast fear aside and lean on Him.
– We should yield our all to Him.
– We should trust Him for our today and tomorrow and leave yesterday in His hands!

Cast care aside, lean on thy Guide;
His boundless mercy will provide;
Trust, and thy trusting soul shall prove
Christ is its life, and Christ its love.

Faint not nor fear, His arms are near,
He changeth not, and thou art dear;
Only believe, and thou shalt see
That Christ is all in all to thee.

Psalm 18:1-6 NIV –

I love you, LORD, my strength.

2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

3 I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I have been saved from my enemies.

4 The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

5 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.

6 In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;

my cry came before him, into his ears.

Psalm 20:7 NIV – Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

God bless you!

Let’s never forget to:
Praaaaaaaaise God!!!
