GOD’S PRESENCE

By Carol Clegg-Lamptey Last updated: August 16, 2024 3 Min Read

I was recently listening to a song and these words brought on a memory from the Bible:

I don’t wanna take a step
If You don’t go before me
I don’t wanna take a breath
If You’re not breathing on me
I don’t need what’s next
If Your presence isn’t leading
If You’re not with me
I don’t want it

They reminded me of Moses.

Exodus 33:11 NIV – The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.

Is that not wonderful?. While the Israelites watched, Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to meet with God. We have the opportunely to talk to God the same way,  anytime, anywhere, for He is near.

It was during one of those meetings, that this happened. (Notably this was after the Israelites had disobeyed God, creating and worshiping a golden calf while Moses was up on Mount Sinai.
God had become angry with them and had said He would not go with them into the promised land.)

Exodus 33:15-17 NIV –
Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.
16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
17And the LORD said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”

That is our God!
When we come to Him in repentance, He hears and He forgives us. If we have lost our way, may we make our way back to Him in repentance and surrender. Jesus’ death and perfect sacrifice did this for us. The Name above all names! 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Revelation 3:20 NIV – Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

May we let the good Lord lead us daily so that the purpose for our life is fulfilled. May God be glorified!

Come and make my heart Your home
Come and be everything I am and all I know
Search me through and through ’till my heart becomes a home for You.

God bless you!
🤗
