PEACE

Carol Clegg-Lamptey

This our God,…these three persons in one God,..eeei!!!🙆🏽‍♀️🙆🏽‍♀️🙆🏽‍♀️
God the Father – father like no other!
God the Son – what a friend!
God the Holy Spirit – what a helper!

Let me explain my excitement briefly. There’s a normal order I create each blog- God gives me a theme, I write, then find an appropriate picture. For some reason I felt to search for a picture first. It was then that I realized I had already written on a particular topic so I was directed to change the theme slightly.
Thank you Holy Spirit! 😘😘

PEACE
What is peace??
It’s a popular word isn’t it?
I recall the movie Miss Congeniality,… the concept of world peace; which we all yearn for.
Many use it to represent the lack of war.

But Biblically speaking, what is peace??
It is more than just absence of conflict or a state of peace; it means completeness or wholeness.

Guess how many times the word peace appears in the Bible?
237 times!
In Hebrew it’s translated as shalom.
In Greek it’s translated as eiréné (i-ray’nay)

Biblical peace is something we cannot create on our own; it’s part of the fruit of the spirit.
God is its source and it points to one of His names – Jehovah Shalom.
(Which I had intended to write on – did so in November. Why not take another read? 🙃)
Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

Jesus is said to give us peace in three ways:
1. Peace with God (salvation)
2. Peace with others (fellowship, reconciliation, living in unity)
3. Peace with ourselves (Jesus is our peace within. In Him we are a new creation 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾)

Let’s read the following verses on peace.

Isaiah 26:3 NIV –
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.

John 14:27 NIV –
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Romans 12:18-19 NIV – If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

And one of my favourite verses, that I have to keep in mind paaaa:

Philippians 4:6-7 NIV – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

God bless you! 🤗

May He grant you His peace. Amen and amen!!!
