Staying Afloat

8th day into the new month of September.
Going back to my old way of saying:
Praaaaaaaaaasaaaaise God!!!!!

God is good allll the time
And alll the time
GOD IS GOOOOOD!!!!

The other day,..I asked my friend :
“How do you guys do it??”

I don’t know about you.
But for me,..it seems like my Christian walk or life has been in a see-saw pattern.
Today,..I’m up,.. tomorrow I’m down – like the sea tossed to and fro by the wind 😬 – not not.
Others seem to always be on fire 🔥 for the Lord.

Do you know what her answer was??

I’ll quote — thanks Erasa 😘

“There are ups and downs gal. The thing is to “look unto Jesus” the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy set before Him “endured ” the cross.”

So how about that??
Firstly it was reassuring to see I was not alone.
And secondly I was encouraged.

This is the picture that comes to mind –

Jesus walking on the water approaching the disciples.
Though somewhat fearful,..Peter asks that if it is truly his Master, Jesus,.he should have him come to Him.

Matthew 14:27-31 NIV
But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

My lessons from the passage
1. We walk by faith and not by sight
2. We may be fearful,…yet we can overcome this fear through Christ alone
3. We must fix our eyes on God, on Jesus and not the circumstances around us.
4. When we lose this focus, .. we start to fall away; to sink,..into depression and all sorts of things.
5.God is always there with an outstretched hand to save us. We need to receive Him.

So,.. my friends,.. this is how I plan to stay afloat, God be my Helper 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
