THE RED SEA

I don’t know about you, but some of the Bible characters appear like they were superhuman. I have to remind myself that they were very much human like me and you. 😄

Look at a man like Joseph. Joseph went through so much. I’m sure he had his own struggles which may not be captured for us to see. If my brothers had sold me into slavery and mistreated me, I’m sure I would have been tempted to make them suffer a teeny weeny bit more. But we find Joseph saying those profound words – “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” (Genesis 50:20)
That’s what the transforming power of God can do in our lives. Not to take revenge, but leave God to deal with those situations and people in our lives.

Romans 12:19 NIV – Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

Next on my mind is Daniel. Daniel! 😅
The king gives an order that no one should pray to any god or human being apart from himself. As for praying I’m sure I would have prayed – in secret and in my head 😅. Not Daniel.
What did he do?

Daniel 6:10 NIV – Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

I love the part that says ‘just as he had done before’. Wow! Now that is something!
May we learn from these wonderful characters.

As for someone like Moses, I can so identify with him 🙈. Especially at the burning bush and how he was reluctant to be sent. That has the old me written all over it, and some 😅! Five times Moses objected to God sending him with all manner of excuses to the extent that God’s anger burned against him 😬🙆🏽‍♀️.
May we always remember that God would never send us out without equipping us. He Himself makes up for the inadequacies we have so that ultimately all the glory belongs to Him and Him alone. 😊🙏🏾🙌🏾

Now to the Red Sea.
Can you imagine it??
In reading the account again, I see how God  guided and protected the Israelites.
The angel of the Lord as well as the pillar of cloud that had been before the Israelites moved from in front to behind them separating them from the Egyptians.
God had Moses stretch out his hand over the sea and all through the night, God drove back the sea. The Israelites went through the sea on dry ground with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
Wow! That took faith to take that step. Faith in God.

What a mighty God we serve!
The same yesterday, today and forever.
His Word gives us so many examples that show us who our God and Father is and He sure is worthy of all the praise.
Fix your eyes on Him no matter what, He is more than able. God is a great Architect, always at work even when we neither see nor feel it. What a God! 😍 May His Name be praised both now and forevermore. Amen and amen!

God bless you!
🤗
