Standing on His Word.
What else can we stand on?
Plenty!
But is that ground solid, or it is sinking sand?
On CHRIST, the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand!!!
Emphasis on “all other”.
The word of God and the Word of God are two different things.
The word of God refers to the divinely inspired written Scriptures, that is the Bible, OR God’s spoken messages to humanity.
The Word of God (capitalized), refers to Jesus Christ Himself, the Way, the Truth and the Life!
Hallelujah!!
I love that man of Galilee,
for He has done so very much for me
He has taken away my sins and now He lives in me!
I love I love that man of Galilee.
Ooooh yes!!!
Let’s look at some verses!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV –
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Hebrews 4:12 NIV –
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Luke 11:28 NIV – He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
The word of God is not there to make us comfortable in our sin. It is there to convict us, correct us, rebuke us and redirect us.
The word of God encourages us in our faith walk with our Master. Life can get discouraging sometimes,..BUT GOD! 🙌🏽🙏🏽🙇🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️
Now to the Word of God! 😍🙏🏽🙌🏽🙇🏽♀️
John 1:1-4 NIV – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
John 1:14 NIV –
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 14:6 NIV – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
So the questions I have for you today are these:
What are you standing on?
What are you depending on?
What are you building your beliefs, foundation and principles on?
It has to be the Word/word of God!
Christ is our firm foundation!
Recall the story of the wise and foolish builders?
One built their house on the rock and the other on sand. Both parties heard the word of God, but they each handled it differently.
Ponder on that,…
This blog was inspired by the song below – “Standing Gidigba” by Victoria Orenze.
Gidigba is derived from the Yoruba word gìdìgbà, which means solid, strong, firm, or grounded.
God bless you!
